My “Why”
Navigating your health journey with Dr. Google, seven-minute physician appointments, and no collaborative support when it comes to your gut, hormone and metabolic health isn’t the care you deserve.
While I advocate for patients to get routine check-ups with their medical doctor, follow screening guidelines, and complete lab investigations, this won’t get you beyond the “line of fine” when it comes to your wellness.
I want you to feel your best and be able to:
- eat at your favourite restaurant without fear of bloating, constipation, or belly fat,
- look at your lab work and say “Yes, my cholesterol and blood sugar look fab!”,
- understand what influences your appetite and body composition - and “eat less, exercise more” paradigm for losing weight is not helpful,
- be empowered to eat, sleep and move for your physical and mental well-being,
- stick with supplements that actually work and don’t interact with your medications, and;
- improve your energy to live, work and love your life without self-sacrifice.
I want you to feel confident in understanding your health decisions. My goal is to help you move from uncertainty to clarity, so you can be an informed and empowered partner in your own care.
Clinical Focus
I love collaborating with patients as they enter midlife and beyond. My personal and clinical experience has nurtured my passion for treating those interested in:
Cardiometabolic health: I participated in two separate fellowships in Cardiovascular Health and Obesity & Metabolism focusing on the prevention and management of complex cardiometabolic disease. From cholesterol and blood pressure to metabolic health, obesity and weight management, I help patients protect cardiometabolic health while improving energy and vitality.
Digestive health: I am the go-to gut naturopath with an extensive background in managing digestive concerns, including but not limited to Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), chronic constipation, heartburn & GERD, bloating & SIBO, Crohn’s & ulcerative colitis, and diverticulosis. Navigating this area of medicine with an evidence-based lens is important, as there’s so much misinformation about how to support your gut online.
Longevity medicine: I enjoy supporting patients in maintaining bone strength, preventing cognitive decline, optimizing metabolic health (blood sugar and weight), improving sleep, and preserving mobility and independence. I offer appointments through the Community Care Program at Rooted Naturopathic Clinic once per quarter for those 65 and older, providing more accessible and affordable naturopathic care to our cherished elders.
I also serve as a facilitator with Rebel Metabolic, a weight loss support group offered at Rooted Naturopathic Clinic. Rebel Metabolic is changing how we look at obesity—focusing on empowerment, education, and sustainable change instead of quick fixes. This work aligns with my passion for helping patients feel stronger, healthier, and more confident in their bodies at every stage of life.
I employ a variety of evidence-based therapies including nutrition and lifestyle counseling, exercise, supplements, botanical medicine, and acupuncture to help you feel your best so you can pursue your passions!
